The AI assistant in Settings

Ask AI is the panel built into a few Settings tabs — describe what you want in plain language, and it drafts branding, pricing, or species changes for you to review.

Look for an “Ask AI” panel near the bottom of the Branding, Pricing, and Species tabs in Settings. Each one is scoped to its own tab: the panel on Branding only talks about your branding, the one on Pricing only your prices, and so on. Only an account owner can use it — reps on your team don’t see it.

  • Branding — your background, primary, and accent colors, your primary and secondary text colors, and your font. If you’ve already uploaded a logo, Ask AI also reads colors out of it on your first message in a conversation.
  • Pricing — your removal and trim base prices by size, your hazard, dead/dying, storm-damaged, and poor-access multipliers, your add-on rates, your range spread, premium factor, rounding, and your minimum and maximum quote.
  • Species — additions to the species list your crew and your online estimator draw from. More on that list in Species classification & your species list.

Ask AI won’t touch anything outside that list for a given tab — there’s no “change everything” mode.

Nothing changes until you say so. After Ask AI replies, each suggested change shows up as its own row — what you have now, what it’s suggesting, and an Apply button, plus an Apply all if you want everything at once. Even after you apply a row, it’s only sitting in the form on your screen; nothing reaches your account until you click that tab’s normal Save button, exactly as if you’d typed the change in yourself.

Changed your mind? Undo all AI changes shows up once you’ve applied anything, and reverts the form to how it looked right before your first Apply — including any other edits you made in between. Review the form before you save rather than assuming Undo hands you back exactly what you had a moment ago.

Ask AI works from plain descriptions, not settings jargon:

  • Branding: “Family-run, 40 years in business, we want to look established rather than flashy.”
  • Pricing: “Do these prices make sense for a two-person crew with a chipper?” — it can review the shape of your numbers, but it has no data on local market rates and will say so rather than guess.
  • Species: “We work in Madison, Wisconsin, and mostly service oak and other common regional species.”

Every message you send — whether or not you end up applying anything — draws on your account’s credit balance. If you run out, the panel tells you and points you at Billing to add more.

If you already know the exact number you want, typing it straight into the field is faster and costs nothing. Reach for Ask AI when you want a starting point, a second opinion, or a batch of species names for your region — not for a single quick tweak.

A conversation that runs long eventually asks you to start a new one — that check happens before anything is charged, so restarting costs nothing. And a suggestion that already matches what you have shows as “nothing to apply” rather than an empty or broken reply.
