Email & SMS notifications
The moment a homeowner submits a lead, your team can be notified by email, by text, or both — this is where that gets configured and what each message contains.
Where recipients are configured
Section titled “Where recipients are configured”Go to Settings → Integrations → Notification Recipients. Each recipient is an email address, a phone number, or both, with its own pair of checkboxes for Email and SMS — so one person can get both, one channel, or the other. Nothing is notified unless a recipient exists with the matching box ticked and the matching field filled in.
Email vs SMS — what each contains
Section titled “Email vs SMS — what each contains”The email leads with the homeowner’s name, phone, email, and how soon they said they wanted the work, and includes a link straight into your dashboard. The text message is shorter by necessity — name, phone number, and urgency. If the lead came in outside your service area, both are marked: the email opens with a warning notice before anything else, and the text is prefixed with [OUT OF AREA - NO PRICE SHOWN] so it isn’t missed on a lock screen.
Adding several recipients
Section titled “Adding several recipients”Click “Add recipient” for each person who should hear about a new lead. A common split is one recipient with Email ticked for whoever screens leads at a desk, and a second with SMS ticked for whoever’s driving between jobs — they don’t have to get the same channel.
If nothing arrives, check recipients first
Section titled “If nothing arrives, check recipients first”Before assuming something’s broken, open Settings → Integrations and confirm: at least one recipient has the channel you expected ticked, and that recipient actually has an email address or phone number filled in for it. A ticked box with an empty field next to it won’t send anything.
What to watch out for
Section titled “What to watch out for”Sending a notification never blocks or delays the lead itself — the lead is saved first, and the email or text goes out separately in the background. That also means a delivery failure on our end (a bad phone number, a mail provider hiccup) doesn’t show up anywhere on screen. The leads list is always the reliable record of what came in; treat notifications as a heads-up, not the source of truth.
