Legal pages & cookie consent
Settings → Legal is where your estimator’s Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, and Cookie Policy get your business’s name on them, and where you decide whether visitors see a cookie consent banner first.
Your legal pages
Section titled “Your legal pages”Set your legal business name once, and it’s used to auto-generate the text of all three pages. You can edit any of the three directly if you want different wording, and a “Reset to auto-generated” button on each brings back the default text if you want to start over.
Cookie consent mode
Section titled “Cookie consent mode”A checkbox turns on a consent banner: homeowners see an Accept/Decline choice before anything else loads on your estimator — including any tracking scripts you’ve added under Settings → Integrations. Declining is final for that visit; it blocks the estimator entirely rather than letting them continue without tracking.
The trade-off
Section titled “The trade-off”Turning consent mode on is the more cautious choice, but it isn’t free. Because nothing is tracked until a visitor accepts, a good share of first visits on a consent-mode estimator end up looking like direct traffic in your reporting, even when they actually arrived from an ad — the banner is the first thing they see, before any of that would normally be recorded. If you’re relying heavily on attribution data to judge which ads are working, that’s worth knowing going in.
What to watch out for
Section titled “What to watch out for”Consent mode is off by default, and turning it on is a real trade-off between visitor privacy and how complete your marketing data looks — there isn’t a right answer for every contractor. Decide deliberately rather than leaving it wherever it happened to start.
