Photos, video & GPS

Every estimate has a place for photos, video, and a location fix — either tied to one tree, or to the property as a whole.

Each tree’s row has its own photo section, for anything specific to that one trunk. There’s a separate section not tied to any tree, for the driveway, the whole yard, or anything else that doesn’t belong to a single row. Each of those spots holds up to four photos and one video — plenty for a normal job, but a limit, not an unlimited roll.

A “Capture GPS” button sits next to each photo section. Tap it before you take a photo and your device’s location is attached to whatever you upload next — it also moves that tree’s pin on the map, so the pin and the ground truth line up. It’s two taps, not one: capture the location, then add the photo, in that order.

There’s no requirement here, but a few shots are consistently worth the extra thirty seconds: the hazard itself (the lean, the deadwood, whatever’s driving a multiplier you ticked), the access route your crew or equipment will need, and where debris or a felled trunk will actually land. A photo answering “why did this cost what it did” saves a callback later.

With a connection and a saved estimate, a photo or video uploads the moment you add it — no separate step. A thumbnail appears once it’s through.

Without a connection, the same capture still works — it queues on your device instead of uploading right away, and catches up once you reconnect. See Working offline for what that queue can hold and when it warns you.

A photo a homeowner already sent through their online estimator shows a “from homeowner” mark and can’t be deleted from here — it’s their record, not yours to remove. Anything you capture yourself can be deleted if you need to redo it.
